Marian B. (Bopp) Shaw

February 16, 1923 — March 3, 2016

Marian B. Shaw, 93 of Youngstown, went to be with the Lord, March 3, 2016 in Vibra Hospital. She was born February 16, 1923 in Kenton, OH, daughter of the late Willis and Myrtle Terry Bopp.

Marian was a 1940 graduate of Kenton High School, worked with the Navy in purchasing until 1945 and after raising six children was later employed as a secretary for Ohio Edison. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Presbyterian Church for 58 years. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Marian was the type of person who was able to smile through anything and always make others smile.

She will be sadly missed by her family, her sons, Richard Shaw of Boardman, John Shaw of Phoenix, AZ and Philip and his wife Sharon Shaw of Huntsville, AL; her daughters, Nancy and her husband Bill Wise of Simi Valley, CA and Phyllis Brant of Lakeland, FL; four grandchildren, Billy Wise and his wife Erica, Ryan Wise and his fiancee Christina and Michael and Joey Shaw; her sister, Barbara Ball of Columbus and two special friends, Sherry Mook and Ruth Campbell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer L. Shaw on January 1, 2001 and her son, Steve Shaw.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11am at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 5-7pm and prior to the service from 10-10:45am on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Marian was a two-time breast cancer survivor and the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
