Margretta R. Stocker

Tallmadge-Margretta R. (Myers) Stocker, 92, passed away December 2, 2012.

Born in Youngstown, Margretta lived in Tallmadge since 1969. She retired in 1962 from the auditing department of Youngstown Transit Company with 21 years of service.

Margretta was a member of First Congregational Church of Tallmadge, where she served as Deacon. She was a United Way Volunteer, a member of Miriam Chapter #278 OES since 1941, past president of the Clotilda Club Auxiliary, past president of the Welsh Clubs of America, Bryn Mawr, Busy Sunshine Club, Tallmadge Historical Society and the Beta Sigma Phi since 1942, Newcomer's Club of Cuyahoga Falls, and the Women's Fellowship of the church. She was also a former Sunday school teacher in the primary department at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church in Boardman.

Margretta was an avid lifetime bowler and received a patch for picking up a 4-6 and 7-10 split. Her philosophy was "I will not be rich in money, but will be rich in friends."

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Albert Bartley Stocker; sister, Grace Ferrell of Youngstown; brother, George E. Myers of Poland; nieces, Janet A. Ferrell of Austintown and Susan Ferrell of Arizona; nephew, Warren (Sheri) Ferrell of the Poland/Canfield area; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church, 3919 Southern Blvd, Boardman, with Rev. Peter Del Nagro officiating. Interment will be at the Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.
