Margaret "Peggy" Yurko, 98, died on Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016 at Assumption Village.
Margaret, affectionately known by many as "Peggy," was born October 10, 1917 in Clymer, PA, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Zualock Felichko.
Margaret married Andrew Yurko on October 10, 1935 and they relocated to Struthers in 1937 when Andrew began working in the mills. A devoted homemaker, Margaret was a meticulous housekeeper, talented seamstress, and wonderful cook. After the passing of her husband in 1986, she began working for Easter Seals as a caregiver, retiring in 2000.
She was a former member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and most recently a member of Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church. Mrs. Yurko was also a member of the Democratic Club, the Polish Arts Club, and the Mahoning County Coin Club.
She leaves her son, Andrew J. "Jack" (Marilyn G.) Yurko of Boardman; her daughter, Pamela J. Dibble of Struthers; seven grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her twelve siblings; son-in-law, Jeff Dibble; and former daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Yurko.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 10-11:15 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, where a funeral service will follow on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will be held after the service at the Becker Family Center for all guests in attendance.
