Margaret May Wire

POLAND-Margaret May Wire, 86, of Poland, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman. She was born December 13, 1922 in Struthers, a daughter of H. Dale and Mary Nesbitt Wire. Miss Wire was a 1941 graduate of Poland Seminary High School. She worked as a civilian clerk and auditor for the Navy Department of the U.S. Government for 44 years in the Dayton, Cleveland and Norfolk, Virginia offices, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Faith Community Church. Miss Wire was also a member of the Dublin Grange No. 1409 in Canfield and the Federal Employee's Retirement Chapter 14 of Youngstown. Miss Wire leaves her brother, Russell Wire of Youngstown; a niece, Janet (Clayton) Newman of Hartville; and two nephews, Dale (Julia) Wire of Reynoldsburg and Jerry Wire of Youngstown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Irma Jines; her sister-in-law, Elinor Wire; and her brother-in-law, Donald Jines. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland with Rev. Gary Marcy officiating. Interment will be at the Poland Riverside Cemetery. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
