Margaret Jean (Blakovich) Walters

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates lost their greatest fan on Wednesday, February 20th, 2019, when Margaret Jean Walters died unexpectedly at her home in Struthers, Ohio.

Marge (‘Margie’) was born May 4, 1941 in Osage, West Virginia. One of 8 children, daughter of Steve and Katherine Blakovich. She met her husband, Larry in Westover, WV and then moved to Ohio where they wed on February 6, 1960.

She loved her family and lived for her children being the most generous, kind-hearted mother, wife and grandmother anyone could ask for. She spent her time cooking for her family, watching all sports and taking care of everyone.

She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, William (‘Larry’) Walters, her sons Larry (wife Lori) and Chris, her daughter Cathy Lewis (husband Steve), her sister Sue Voight and brothers Bill and Gary Blakovich, six grandchildren; Luke, Logan and Alexa Walters and Brittany, Jordan, and Cameron Lewis, as well as one great grandchild, Parker Summers.

Marge was also preceded in death by her parents as well as brothers Steven and Peter Blakovich and sister Mary Ann Clemmer.

A memorial service celebrating Marge's life will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Friends will be received prior to the service Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
