Margaret Ann Verbanovic

Margaret Ann Verbanovic, 73 Struthers- Margaret Ann Verbanovic, 73, of Maplecrest Nursing Home, died Monday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Mrs. Verbanovic was born November 19, 1929 in Youngstown, a daughter of John C. and Helen Alden Holby. She was raised in Lowellville and lived in Struthers and New Springfield. For 10 years she was a clerk for Handleman Books. She was a graduate of Lowellville High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers and then St. Paul the Apostle in New Middletown. Her husband Victor A. Verbanovic whom she married November 14, 1955, died July 2, 2002. She leaves one daughter, Victoria (Gilbert) Chalfant of New Middletown and Michael Verbanovic of New Springfield; one sister Irene Cukec of Struthers; two brothers, her twin, Jake Holby of Lowellville and James Holby of Struthers; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, one brother, William Holby and one sister, Sylvia Soich preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 1:30 p.m. at St. Nicholas Church, Struthers. Friends may call from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
