A mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m. in Boardman at St. Charles Borromeo Church for Margaret A. Selby, who passed away Sunday night at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness.
Mrs. Selby was born Sept. 20, 1936 in Struthers, a daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth McMullen. After graduating from Canfield High School, she received a bachelor's degree from Miami University in Oxford, and master's degree from Westminster College. After receiving her master's, Mrs. Selby continued her education at YSU and Boston College. She began her teaching career at Boardman Local Schools teaching in the 5th grade and the reading center. After taking time off to raise her family, she returned to teaching the 5th grade at C.H. Campbell Elementary School in Canfield.
Peggy was a member of the Mahoning Co. and Ohio Retired Teachers Association. She was a member Soil Sister Garden Club for 48 years and enjoyed playing bridge with friends.
Mrs. Selby is survived by her husband Richard N. Selby, whom she married Aug. 14, 1965. Peggy was the loving mother to her son, Ric Selby of Painesville, and her daughter and son in law, Marianne and Al Nagy of Stow, as well as being a doting grandmother to Peter and Grace Nagy. Mrs. Selby is also survived by her two sisters, Marie McPhee and Betty Badaski, both of Youngstown.
Friends may call Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Davis-Becker Funeral Home (at our new location, 8536 Market St.) and from 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. at the Church.
