BOARDMAN ­ Prayer services will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman followed by a 10 a.m.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church. The Mass is in celebration of Margaret Mary Santry, 79, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, with family by her side.

Margaret was born March 30, 1938, in Potenza, Italy, the daughter of Rocco and Mary Villano.

Margaret and her family immigrated to America in 1946. She proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1956. Margaret grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. making wonderful memories such as spending time with her father helping out in his grocery store and teaching her mother English.

Margaret graduated high school in Brooklyn and worked as a buyer in Manhattan for a large retail chain. She later moved to the area in 1977. She was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and never missed Sunday Mass. In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed reading, crocheting, as well as playing bingo. She was an avid walker, loved going dancing and meeting new people. Margaret held various jobs throughout the years, but always said her best success came from raising a happy and healthy family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Santry, whom she married on Sept. 16, 1967; twin brother Michael Villano; and sister Josephine Zitolo.

She is survived by three children, Jeff (Danielle) Santry of Colorado, Linda

(Tim) Fiscus of Pennsylvania and Lisa (Anthony) Santry of Poland; one brother, Ralph (Donna) Villano of Canfield; five grandchildren, Kaeleen, Jordan, Bennett, Nathaniel, and Leah; three step-grandchildren, Rachel, Ella, and Paige; one sister-in-law, Ann Villano; and many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. in Boardman.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer¹s (Dementia) Association in Margaret¹s memory.
