POLAND - Margaret M. Romeo, 78, died late Saturday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Margaret was born Aug. 16, 1933, in Struthers, a daughter of Michael and Martha Bilas Varsho. She was a lifelong area resident and was a stay at home mom.
She was a member of the Holy Family Church in Poland, where she was also active in the Altar Guild. Margaret was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 247, Lowellville. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and always put her family first.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Fred J. Romeo of Poland; her children, Cindy (Joe) Weiss of Brecksville, Fred (Kim) Romeo Jr. of Poland, Linda (Greg) Romeo of Poland, and Gina (Jeff) Rogers of Medina; a sister, Catherine Ulrich of Youngstown; a brother, Peter Varsho; and eight grandsons, Michael, Brian, Freddie, Steve, Sam, James, Jacob and Dylan.
Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, John and Joseph Varsho; and two sisters, Martha Roble and Helen Hartman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church, with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
