Poland - Margaret "Peggy" Pogacnik, 89, of Poland and formerly of Hamilton Blvd in Struthers, died February 25, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mrs. Pogacnik was born April 27, 1920 in Youngstown, a daughter of Frank and Mary Whitehouse Petkunas.
Mrs. Pogacnik worked in retail sales for Livingston's, Hartzel Rose and Sons, the Dorothy Sherwood Dress and Millinery Shop, and retired in 1984 from the May Co. She also owned and operated Carmel's Dress Shop in Struthers for five years.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers, the VFW Women's Auxiliary Post 3538, and a member and past president of the ABWA.
She leaves her husband, Stanley J. Pogacnik, whom she married February 17, 1947, her daughter, Pat (Ron) Janci of Hudson; two granddaughters, Karen (Nathan) Hagan of Aurora and Laura Janci of Green River, WY; and her great-granddaughter, Nia Rae Hagan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Agnes "Dutch" Biroschak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
