Struthers - Margaret Ann O'Neil, 98, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.
Margaret was born April 26, 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Andrew and Ann (Seinkner) Ceplece. She lived mostly in Struthers all her life, except during the Depression, she lived in New Castle, PA with her mom and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Seinkner.
She graduated from Struthers High School in 1944, where she was Senior Class President and a member of the National Honor Society.
Margaret worked for Truscon Steel Company in Youngstown as a clerk for five years before becoming a devoted homemaker, caring for her family.
Margaret was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Struthers, a member of St. Nicholas Senior Citizens, the Struthers Friends of the Library, one of the founding members of Struthers Historical Society, where she served as Treasurer for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, sewing, needlework, and reading.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Sue A. (Vic) Boyer; three sons, Charles A. (Bernice) O'Neil, Michael J. (Donna) O'Neil, and Thomas J. (Kris) O'Neil; eleven grandchildren, Anna Ghosh, Jodi (Ken) Hippner, Peter (Julie) Boyer, Katie O'Neil (Welton), Gregory (Antonia) Boyer, Colleen (Matt) Huhn, Meghan (Craig) Clark, Amy (Matt) Jackson, Charlie (Haley) O'Neil, Caroline (Thomas) Hamilton, and James O'Neil; eleven great-grandchildren, Sophia Wells, Alexa Wells, Alexandria Boyer, Evan Welton, Taylor Boyer, Evan Huhn, Uma Ghosh, Molly Huhn, Henry Clark, Charlie Clark, and Charlotte O'Neil; and several stepchildren.
Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles "Bill" W. O'Neil, whom she married on October 29, 1949 and died February 26, 1993; a brother, Andrew Ceplece III; her in-laws, Charles and Wilma O'Neil; and her in-laws siblings, Jean and Harry Zimmerman, Jack O'Neil, and Joe and Joan O'Neil.
Per Margaret's request, private services were held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Struthers with Fr. Zachary Coulter officiating. Interment was held at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lowellville, Ohio.

The family is requesting material tributes take the form of contributions to Struthers Historical Society, 50 Terrace Street, Struthers, OH 44471 in memory of Margaret.
A special thanks to aids, nurses, and staff of Poland Shepherd of the Valley for giving mom their kindness and care for almost ten years. Also the aids and nurses at Boardman Shepherd of the Valley and Hospice of the Valley for their care and compassion of mom during her final month.
