Margaret Everard Neiman, 90, of Youngstown, died Friday morning May 25, 2018 at Masternick Nursing Home in New Middletown.
She was born September 25, 1927 in Youngstown, OH, daughter of Thomas Mackey Cooksey Sr. and Kitty (Haggis) Cooksey and had been a lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Youngstown and earned her bachelor's degree from Ohio University. She taught school in the Youngstown City School system for 32 years.
Margaret was the matriarch of her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her Husband Thomas J. Neiman Jr., whom she married in 1949 died in 1975.
She leaves her daughter, Peg (Mark) Poklemba of Yougstown; two sons, Randy (Lori) Neiman of Boardman, and Don (Faye)Neiman of Turbeville, South Carolina; thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and her father, she was preceded in death by a son, T.J. Neiman, III; a daughter, Kitty McCleese; two brothers, Thomas Cooksey, Jr. and Arthur Cooksey and her sister, Grace Cooksey Ruebsaman.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 30, 2017 at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
The Neiman family would like to thank the following organizations for the care, compassion and comfort they extended to Margaret when she needed it most; Adult Protective Services, the Youngstown Police Department, physicians, nurses, and social workers at Mercy Health in Youngstown, as well as the staff at Masternick Memorial and All Caring Hospice.
