Struthers - Margaret Kennedy Milligan, 97, of Struthers died Sunday afternoon in Maplecrest Nursing Home. Mrs. Milligan was born November 23, 1909 in Brookfield, a daughter of Harry and Anna Ellen Flick Anderson. She was a 1928 graduate of Struthers High School and attended Ohio University. Mrs. Milligan worked for Strouss Department Store and as a bookkeeper for Milligan Dairy. She was a New York representative for the American Field Service covering 19 schools in 6 counties of Ohio and 15 schools in 5 counties of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Milligan was a member of the Struthers Girl Basketball Team which won the State Championship in 1926 and later was inducted into the Struthers Hall of Fame. She was an accomplished public speaker, a leader of the former Missionary Society, a member of the Struthers Music Club Chorus and was an avid swimmer. She was a member of the Struthers Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the Fiega Sunday School Class, Fireside Sunday School Class and the Women's Circle. Mrs. Milligan leaves her husband, Harold Milligan, Sr., whom she married September 4, 1931; a daughter, Rebecca Milligan of Columbia, SC; a son, Harold (Linda) Milligan, Jr. of Struthers; five grandchildren, Jennifer Milligan, Amy Moran, Shannan Pierce, Scott Morgan, and Mandi Angelo; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs. Milligan was preceded in death by a daughter, Judith Milligan; a sister, Jane Winkler; and two brothers, Harry and Edward Anderson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 A.M. at the Struthers Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Breazier officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and Thursday from 10-10:45 A.M. at the church. Interment will follow in the Poland Riverside Cemetery.
