Struthers - Margaret Garchar, 87, of Struthers, died Monday morning, September 18, 2017 at Masternick Memorial with her family at her side.
Margaret was born July 22, 1930 in Campbell, a daughter of Mike and Susie Timko Kovach.
A graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, Margaret cleaned the offices of Standard Slag and the Stambaugh Building. Margaret always enjoyed baking, shopping for a good value, dancing and listening to polkas. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Struthers.
Margaret's husband, Andrew A. Garchar, whom she married August 26, 1950 died March 19, 2017; She leaves three daughters, Sylvia (Rick) Breitzman of Puyallup, WA, Maria (Daniel) Ginnetti, and Monica (John) Appel all of Poland; one son, Edward Garchar also of Poland; and seven grandchildren, Shawn (Emily) Breitzman, Justin (Sarah) Ginnetti, Joshua (Kelsey) Ginnetti, Gino Ginnetti, Dr. Jared Appel, Kyle Appel, and Kirsten Appel.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Michael, and Albert Kovach; and two sisters, Helen Wishnewski and Susan Popson.
Prayer services will be held Saturday, 9:45 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Celuch officiating. Interment will follow at the St Michael's Byzantine Cemetery in Campbell.
Friends will be received Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Poland.
