Margaret "Peggie" W. Eckert, 79
CANFIELD - Services will be held Saturday at noon, at the Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church for Margaret W. Eckert, 79. She went to be with her Lord Wednesday morning with her family by her side.
Mrs. Eckert was born Oct. 4, 1934, in Sebring, a daughter of Harry and Gladys Flowers Wright.
She is a graduate of Sebring High School. Peggie began her career as an executive secretary for the chief chemist at Babcock & Wilcox Company, and then she was the secretary to the Chief of Police in Austintown and ended her career as secretary and treasurer for Eckert Interiors.
She was a very active member of the church and had been in the choir and taught Sunday School. She served on the Board at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Peggie's favorite thing was the planning and visiting Disney World with her family.
Surviving her is her husband of 61 years, Melvin W. Eckert, whom she married Sept. 12, 1952; her children, Michele (Jim) Dunn of Youngstown and Mark (Sue) Eckert of Canfield; a sister, Esther Jenkins of Murray, Ky.; and sister-in-law, Doris Wright of Mathew, N.C. Also, two grandchildren, Zachary and Kelsey.
Preceding her in death, besides her parents, are her brothers, Thomas and Harry Wright; sisters, Helen Sills, Anna Mae Chick, Lucille Mathewson, Alice Jean Suciacu and Maxine Lamp; and a granddaughter Rachael Suzanne Eckert.
Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the church.
