Margaret A. Daltorio, 85
POLAND - Margaret A. Daltorio, 85, died Feb. 26, 2012, at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House.
Margaret was born Oct. 31, 1926, in Youngstown, the daughter of Felix and Almira Eovito Colasant.
She was a 1945 East High School graduate. She went on to work as a Supervisor in the X- Ray Department at Southside Hospital, before resigning from her position to raise her two children, Joseph Michael and Margaret Marie.
Margaret then became instrumental in assisting her husband in his higher education and his numerous business endeavors. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God for many years, where she and her husband, Joe, provided beautiful catered meals for the Senior Saints Ministry. She was the State and Regional Director for Women's Ministries for the Assemblies of God from 1989 to 1993.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph of Poland, whom she married, May 1, 1947; a son, Rev. Joseph (Janice) Daltorio of Hudson; a daughter, Margaret (Mark) Melnek of Poland; a sister, Dahlia Pennell of Austintown; six grandchildren, Matthew, Thomas, Angelisa, and Emily Melnek, Michael (Kati) Daltorio and Julianne (Arthur) Russell; and two great-grandchildren.
Margaret was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family will miss her smile, laugh, love, and indomitable strength.
Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by three sisters, Violet LoGuidice, Linda and Amelia Colasant; and two brothers, Cleto and Felix Colasant.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, with the Rev. Bob Reese officiating. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Friends will be received Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home
