Margaret R. "Peggy" Balog, 90
BOARDMAN - Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman, for Margaret R. "Peggy" Balog, 90. She passed away Sunday at Hospice House.
Mrs. Balog was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Youngstown, a daughter of Ovid and Julia Dezenar.
She was a graduate of South High School and attended two years of business school at Youngstown College. During World War II, she had worked for General Fireproofing and later on she worked for Billy Earhart Dance Studio and JoAnn Farbics.
Peggy was an avid reader. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an excellent cook. She also volunteered at South Side Hospital and was a member of the Hungarian Presbyterian Church.
Surviving her is her husband, Alexander, whom she married Dec. 6, 1941; a son, Ted of Youngstown; and a daughter, Geraldene "Ger" Perno of Miami. Also five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was a brother.
Friends may call Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
