Lucille LaCivita

BOARDMAN-Lucille LaCivita, 88, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Thursday evening, December 26, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. LaCivita was born May 29, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of Canciano and Mary Bertolini Savoia.

Lucille attended St. Brendan grade school and was a 1943 graduate of Chaney High School on the city's west side.

On September 7, 1946, Lucille married Ralph LaCivita, whom she met while working at General Fireproofing. She later worked for Youngstown Tile and Terrazo and Albee Homes. After their retirement, Lucille and Ralph moved to Port Richey, FL where she resided for 36 years. While in Florida, Lucille worked as a secretary for the Pasco County Hospital. Lucille returned to Youngstown in 2008 to be closer to her family.

Lucille was an avid reader, talented seamstress, and a wonderful baker and cook. She always enjoyed entertaining family and friends.

Lucille will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Audrey (Steve) Mislay of Youngtown and their children, Mary (Jeff) Hake and Jeanne (Michael) Robinson and family; brother-in-law, Michael Lacivita and his children, Linda (Greg) Krieger and family and Sandra (John) Vicarel and family; and a special cousin, who was raised with her as a sister, Lillian (Jerry) Rosati and their children, Mark (Cindy) and family, Jack, David (Pam) and family, Robert (Chris) and family, and Ronald (Jen) and family; and nieces, Florence Osso and family and Phyllis Mehle and family; along with many other extended family members. Her nieces and nephews thought of her like a second mother.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her step-father, Gioachino Savoia; sister, Margaret Lacivita; infant brother, Jackie; and several sister and brother-in-laws.

Family and friends will be received today from noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street, Boardman. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mrs. LaCivita's name to the Beatitude House, 238 Tod Lane, Youngstown, Ohio 44504.

The family would like to thank all the physicians, nurses, and staff of St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Care Center for their excellent care and concern during her stay.
