Luciano Bongrazio

Poland - Luciano Bongrazio, Poland, formerly of Lowellville, died October 10, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Boardman Campus.
Mr. Bongrazio was born December 9, 1915 in Alanno, Italy, son of Rocco and Elvira Dellmonache Bongrazio. He served in the Italian Army during WWII before coming to the United States in 1952.

He was a diesel mechanic for Carbon Limestone, before retiring in 1980. Luciano was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed polka music, dancing every weekend, and making and sharing wine with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife the former, Giorgina Colangelo, whom he married May 15, 1947 ; one daughter, Laura (Ennio) Marchionda of Poland; one brother, Remo Bongrazio of Italy; one sister, Ida (Bongrazio) Gagliardone of Italy; three grandchildren, Gina (David) Swindler, Deanna (Philip) Colella, and Michael (Katie) Marchionda; four great-grandchildren, Vito and Mya Colella; Katie and Ashley Swindler.

Besides his parents, Luciano was preceded in death by one son, Romeo Bongrazio; one brother, Allesandro Bongrazio; and one sister, Giuseppina Dalessandro.

A prayer service will be held Monday at 9:30AM at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at Holy Rosary Church. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received Sunday from 3-6PM at the funeral home.


The family would like to thank the staff at Hampton Woods, St. Elizabeth Hospital, and Hospice of the Valley for their excellent care.
