Louise A Anderson

August 30, 1915 — December 12, 2015

Boardman - Louise A. (Kurtz) Anderson, 100, died December 12, 2015 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 30, 1915 in Cleveland, daughter of the late Karl and Louise Christian Spengler.

Louise was happily employed as a switchboard operator for the Youngstown Board of Education for 16 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church and more recently Good Hope Lutheran. Louise was a member of service guilds at both churches. She enjoyed traveling with family and was an avid collector of many items. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, loved her home and enjoyed tending to her yard. She will always be remembered as a very giving person.

Surviving are three daughters, Karen (Michael) Burns of Tucson, AZ, Nancy (Don) Waldron of Surfside, CA and Jill (George) Patterson of Canfield; her son Robert (Linda) Kurtz of Salem; step-daughter, Carole (Larry Smith) Anderson of Poland; grandchildren, Lora (Rick), Lisa, Roy (Jennifer), Ethan, Emma, Carrie, Anna, Jacob and Jillian; three great-grandchildren, Tom, Rachel and Alexis; nephews, Michael (Cathy), Karl (Teena) and Kenny (Carolyn); nieces, Mary Louise (Joe), Barbara and Martha Lee (Harry).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Ray Kurtz, second husband, Carl Anderson; her brother, Karl Spengler; sister-in-law, Pauline Spengler; nephew, Arthur Kutz Jr. and niece, JoAnn Kurtz.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Cheri Mayle, for the love and support she showed while taking care of Louise.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 12:00 PM at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. Boardman, with the Rev. Joyce Lawson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Friends will be received prior to the service on Saturday from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the funeral home.
