Lois A. Thomas

POLAND- Lois A Thomas, formerly of Poland, died Saturday morning at Hampton Woods surrounded by her family.

Lois was born July 11, 1927 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Frank and Ethel Byo Dalberg. She was raised in Youngstown and lived in Poland most of her life.

A 1944 graduate of South High School, Lois was a homemaker. She attended Evangel Baptist Church on Southern Blvd. in Boardman, and a former member of the Bears Club. Lois loved crafts including ceramics and sewing. She was also a skilled knitter, an excellent cook and belonged to the casserole club.

Her husband William "Bert" Robert Thomas Sr., whom she married June 19, 1948 died October 12, 2007. She leaves one son, William (Carol) Thomas of Salem; two daughters, Beth (Gary) Smith of Petersburg and Janet (Darren) Morrison of Atwater; one brother, Robert (Dorothy) Dalberg of Struthers; two grandchildren, Gabe Garcia of San Diego, CA, and Mandy (Matt) Phillips of Orange Park, FL; and four great-grandchildren, Turner, Parker, and Sawyer Phillips, and Aurora Garcia.

The family would like to thank and commend the staff at Hampton Woods for the care, love and respect they showed both Lois and the family.

A Memorial Services will be held Monday, 7:00 PM at Evangel Baptist Church in Boardman, with Pastor Randy Brunko officiating.

Friends will be received Monday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the church.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley in Youngstown.

Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
