Services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Poland Chapel of Cunningham Becker Funeral Home, for Mrs. Lois E. Allen Royce, formerly of Wakefield Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio. Mrs. Royce, age 94, died at Greenbriar Healthcare Center on April 28. She would have been 95 on June 1st.
Mrs. Royce was born in Youngstown, a daughter of Clarence E. and Bessie Keefer Allen. She was a graduate of South High School and retired from Ashland Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, as an office manager.
She had been a member of Corem Chapter of Eastern Star and Youngstown Court Order of the Amaranth. She and her husband, Clarence, whom she married September 10, 1937 and who died in 1993, were active members of Woodland Park Methodist Church of McDonald for many years.
She is survived by her son, Colonel Charles A. Royce; two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A brother, James, and sister, Dorothea, preceded her in death.
Family and friends will be received Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
