Youngstown - Lloyd C. Ellis, 58, who lived life loud, proud, and with a great sense of humor passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Lloyd was born May 13, 1966 in Louisville, KY, a son of the late Lloyd and Judith (Davidson) Ellis. He graduated from Howland Christian High School and was a proud member of the United States Army.

He was a skilled bricklayer with Cikovich Construction, and in the off-seasons, sold cars with charm and a handshake you could trust. There was no one like him. He was a man who could make anyone laugh and who never took life too seriously, except maybe when it came to the Kentucky Wildcats becausehe really did bleed blue.

Lloyd proudly supported Poland sports, especially football, where he began coaching Poland Little Bulldogs in 2005. He had this knack for being funny without even trying, always finding a way to bring a smile to everyone’s face, whether on the sidelines or in his living room.

He’d give you the shirt off his back and never wanted any fuss to be made about him in return. He was as comfortable on his Harley as he was at a family gathering, blending humor and heart in a way that only he could. He loved music of all kinds and passed that eclectic taste on to his kids.

Lloyd didn’t want a fuss made about him in life, and we’re betting he’d roll his eyes at all this. But today, we’re honoring him his way-come dressed in your favorite Harley gear, Kentucky Wildcat, or Poland colors. Let’s remember him the way he’d want us to: laughing, reminiscing, and maybe even heading to the racetrack afterward to celebrate a life well-lived and full of joy.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Monica (McBride) Ellis; his children, Tara Jo Martens, Jessica Smith, Trey (Bella) Ellis, and Zachary Ellis; his grandchildren, Emmet and Scarlet; sisters, Kimberly Barth, Laura Landolfi, and Sarah (Dani) Ellis; brothers, David (Stacy) and Jon Ellis; his in-laws, Bill and Dorothy McBride; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. In keeping with Lloyd's tradition of being authentically himself, the family requests that friends come dressed in Harley gear, Kentucky Wildcats or Poland colors to celebrate his life.
