POLAND - Linda C. (Kent) Wilkeson, 70, died July 14, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
She was born April 26, 1942, in Salem, a daughter of Albert and Lois (McNaughton) Kent.
She was a 1960 graduate of Salem High School and received her bachelor's degree in education from Youngstown State University in 1974. She taught one year as a kindergarten teacher for Lisbon School System and then as a substitute teacher for various schools throughout the area.
She was a member of the Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith in Salem and played the organ for the church for many years. Mrs. Wilkeson was also a former member of the Poland Historic Society and served as past secretary. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and they visited 48 of the 50 states.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Wilkeson, whom she married Aug. 22, 1964; daughter, Betsy (Bob) Kramer of East Palestine; three grandchildren, Ryan (Nikki) Kramer of Salem, Corinne Kramer of East Palestine and Kent Kramer of East Palestine; and a great-grandchild, whom she was anxiously awaiting for his or her arrival in January.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Kent.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, with Brother Kim Bergman and Brother Ray Luxeiul officiating.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
