Linda J. (Ciccone) Docherty

Linda J. Docherty 77, Daughter of Vencenzio and Lucia Ciccone; wife of John Docherty, mother of Gina and Jack Vicarel, John and Danielle Docherty, and Stacey and Tom Harklerode. The grandmother of Jordan (Brandie) Marrie, Chelsea Marrie, Brooke (Jonathon Louthan) Marrie, Zachary Harklerode, Malerie (Ryan Swartz) Harklerode, Alex Harklerode, and Giovanni Docherty; Great-grandmother of Kenly, Jackson, Elias, and Gia, sister of Antonette Owens, sister-in-law of Shirley Ciccone and Barbara Ciccone, a brother-in-law of Bill Docherty, an aunt to several nieces and nephew, died Friday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, with her family by her side.

Linda was born April 17, 1940 in Lowellville, Ohio where she had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of the 1958 class of Lowellville High School where she had remained with many of her friends to the end. In 1962 Linda moved to Los Angeles, California where her and John were married and had their children. In 1972, they moved back to Lowellville where they raised their family. Linda loved her family and cherished her time and the holidays with them.

She had retired from Labor Ready where she had been a customer service representive. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville, a member of Mount Carmel Ladies Association.

Linda had a passion for seeing people enjoying eating the food she prepared and her baked goods. She got great pleasure seeing her grandchildren participate in all of their sporting and band activities. She was an avid "LeBron" Cavalier’s fan as well as a Pittsburgh Steelers.

Gina, John and Stacey would like to thank Danielle for all the loving care she provided for her the last sixteen months of her life. They also extend their thanks to the staff of Assumption Village Nursing Home, the staff of the eighth floor extension of St. Elizabeth Health Center and many friends and family who aided in her care.

She had been preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her siblings, Ralph and Patty Ciccone, Tony Ciccone, Danny and Janet Ciccone, Richard Ciccone, Rose Ciccone Morroco, and Jimmy Owens, Jean and Jerry Bruce, and Connie Docherty

A funeral mass will be held for Linda Tuesday morning at 10:00 am July 25, 2017 at the church. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 pm at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Lowellville.
