Linda Hansen Chuba, 70
POLAND, OHIO - Linda Hansen Chuba, 70, died Dec. 8, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Mrs. Chuba was born July 14, 1943, in Nevada, Iowa, a daughter of George and Irene McClellan Hansen.
Linda graduated from Nevada Iowa High School in 1961 and American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa in 1963. She attended Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa in 1964.
She was a resident of Poland since 1986 and a former resident of Michigan, South Carolina, Illinois, Minnesota and Iowa.
She worked as a Legal Secretary in the John R. Hattery Law Office and as an assistant in the Story County Iowa Recorders Office.
Linda was a knowledgeable gardener and enjoyed flower gardening. She loved the beautiful rose, hydrangea, peony and tulip blooms that came each spring and summer.
Linda enjoyed reminiscing about her family, growing up with an older brother. One of her favorite stories was how she was taught by her mother to share with her brother Bill...one of them would divide the treat and the other would get to choose their portion.
She would relive and laugh about the many stages of her son's life as he grew up. A much loved one was at the stage when he started noticing girls. When eating out with his mother, he would insist on leaving the tip if the server was female.
Linda was in awe of Beata's intelligence and drive to get top grades in the college classes.
She is survived by her husband, David Chuba of Poland, Ohio, whom she married Aug. 20, 1966; a son, Michael Chuba and his wife, Beata Jermakowicz Chuba of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and a brother, William Hansen and his wife, Betty McDonald Hansen of Salem, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Irene Hansen.
Private services were held at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.
