Columbiana- Lillian Elizabeth Robison, 93, of Columbiana, OH, died Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living after suffering a stroke.
Born at the family home in Struthers, Ohio, July 25, 1921, she was the daughter of Violet (Jackson) Grant and Alexander Hopkins Grant.
Lillian was raised in Struthers and spent various years of her adult life in Poland and Boardman, Ohio, before moving this year to live in Columbiana, Ohio.
Mrs. Robison graduated from Struthers High School in 1939.
Lillian began her working career with Strouss' as a keypunch operator before accepting a Quality Control Specialist job with Republic Steel Corporation. After marriage to LeRoy Robison, Lillian and LeRoy owned and operated the Dairy Queen located on Youngstown-Poland Road for ten years. Following the sale of the Dairy Queen, Lillian was employed with Commercial Shearing as a Computer Control Specialist. She retired in 1986.
Mrs. Robison enjoyed family events, researching the Grant Clan, baking, nature hikes and bike rides. During her courtship with LeRoy, the couple would often go for a ride in LeRoy's 1934 Ford Coupe. Continuing with the joy of the open road, Lillian and LeRoy traveled the United States extensively throughout her lifetime.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Struthers, Ohio, where she served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher. Lillian is delivered into our Savior's care as a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
Located in Lillian's copy of Dr. Martin Luther's Small Catechism book is a note written by her stating she had to say John 3:16 in front of the whole congregation. Once more her faith in the grace of God can be recited: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
Survivors include her loving husband, LeRoy Robison, whom she married August 29, 1946; a brother, Harry Grant and his wife, Joan (Wilding) Grant; sisters, Velma (Grant) Lenz, and June (Grant) Hull; and a sister-in-law, Anne Grant.
Lillian is preceeded in death by a brother, Gilbert Grant; a sister, Mildred (Grant) Speerbrecher; two infant siblings, James and Annabelle; and three brothers-in-law. Richard Lenz, Charles Hull, and Edward Speerbrecher.
She will be missed in the lives of nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who fondly called her by the name, Aunt Sis.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday,1:30 PM at the Davidson -Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, with Pastor Richard Kidd officiating.
Family and Friends will be received Monday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
