Lowellville - Lila May Flickinger, 83, of Lowellville, died Sunday, December 23, 2007 in the Hospice House. Mrs. Flickinger was born July 9, 1924 in New Middletown, Ohio, a daughter of Clyde and Lizzie Floor Wire. In 1944, she moved with her parents from New Middletown to Shangri La Riding Stables in Poland Township. After getting married, she moved to Lowellville and has lived there since. She attended the Springfield Township Schools. At the age of the 14, she was the primary Sunday school teacher at the Free Methodist Church of New Middletown. She was also a Sunday school teacher and the children's Sunday school superintendent at the Zion Lutheran Church of New Middletown. She was a former member of both churches. Mrs. Flickinger worked as a veterinary assistant for Dr. S.L. Weary, Jr. for 15 years. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved crafts, gardening, flowers, and canning. Her husband, Edward Flickinger, whom she married October 8, 1955, preceded her in death on September 16, 2005. She leaves her brother, Ezra "Jim" (Carolyn) Wire of Schuylkill-Haven, PA. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret and Dorothy Wire and her brother, Oscar Wire. There are no calling hours or services.
