Lewis W. Cannon, 79 Youngstown - Lewis W. Cannon, 79, formerly of 2720 Julian died early Wednesday morning at Caprice Health Care Center. Mr. Cannon was born September 9, 1925 in Youngstown a son of Reese Burt and Elizabeth Price Cannon. He served in WW II in the Navy, where his ship was destroyed by Kamikaze pilots planes. He retired from P& LE Railroad where he was a brakeman and conductor having worked for 35 years. He was an amateur boxer where he had a 17-1 record; some of his hobbies include racing pigeons, boxing, and loved watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He leaves his wife of 58 years, the former Mary Alice Sarver, whom he married on December 18, 1946; a son, Michael and future daughter in law Susan Gilbert; and two grandchildren, Michael Jr. and Michelle Cannon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Burt Cannon and a sister Lillian McBride. Funeral services will be Saturday 10AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
