Struthers - Lewanna Hersman, 87, of Struthers died Sunday, August 5th in Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Ms. Hersman was born April 20, 1920 in Buckhannon, West Virginia, a daughter of Coleman and Jessie Almond Miles. She came to this area 57 years ago and to Struthers 25 years ago. She was a graduate of Upsur High School and was a homemaker. She was a sales associate at McKelvey's Department Store in the Fur and Coat Department for 6 years. She was a member of the Evergreen Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Boardman where she sang solo and did local missionary work. Ms. Hersman enjoyed gardening and taking walks. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Ms. Hersman leaves two daughters, Diana (George) Burich of Struthers and Debra (Walt) Walker of New Middletown; two sons, David (Vicky) Hersman of Moreland Hills, OH and Donald (Bernice) Hersman of Coral Springs, FL; seven grandchildren, Brad Hersman, Brian Hersman, Laurie Mull, Lisa Takacs, Kris Walsh, Wes Walker and Wendy Walker; and seven great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Ms. Hersman was preceded in death by her aunt, Grace Kidd, whom raised her. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Interment will follow in the Poland Riverside Cemetery. Friends will be received Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Condolences may be sent at
