LeRoy G Bartelmay

Boardman - LeRoy G. Bartelmay Jr, 102, died April 17, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman. He was born March 18, 1914 in Youngstown, son of the late LeRoy and Margaret LaSalle Bartelmay and had been a resident at Shepherd of the Valley in Poland for the last 17 years.

LeRoy was a 1932 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. He was employed as a salesperson for State Chemical Manufacturing, retiring in 1978. LeRoy was very active at First Baptist Church/Western Reserve Baptist Church where he faithfully served on the Board of Deacons, Board of Finance and was Treasurer of the Building Fund. He enjoyed golf and dancing. LeRoy was a member of the Wick Lodge #481 F. & A.M. He and his wife, Garnet, cherished the winters in Bradenton, FL.

He leaves his son, Donald (Sarah) Bartelmay of Aiken, SC; his daughter, Patricia (Frank) Sachire of Canfield; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) McBride, Adam (Heather) Bartelmay and Ryan (Cindy) Sachire; six great-grandchildren, Grey, Halle, Thomas, Patrick, Anna and Emily; two brothers, Merton Bartelmay and Herbert (Mary) Bartelmay and his sister, Alma Patterson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Garnet Reedy Bartelmay, his sisters, Margaret and Gladys Bartelmay, and Edythe Nagy; and his brother, Norman Bartelmay.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 6pm at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. Boardman. Visitation will be prior to the service from 4-5:45pm with a Masonic Service at 5:45pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Private interment will be in Lake Park Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Shepherd of the Valley, Poland and Boardman for the excellent love and care they have shown over the years.
