Leonard A. Lind, 77 Youngstown- Leonard A. Lind, 77, of Jennifer Drive, Poland, died Friday evening at Forum Northside Health Center. Mr. Lind was born October 12, 1924, in Harmony, PA to Edvin L. and Agda M. Anderson Lind, and has been an area resident since 1950. An U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, serving as a gunners mate aboard the USS Wharton. He worked for McKay Machine finally, retiring from Wean United as service manager after 36 years of service. He was a charter member of the Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served the Lord in many capacities in the church, serving in many positions on the church council and teaching Sunday School. He also served on the Board of Directors for Camp Frederick. Also a member of Poland Lodge #766 F&AM, and Gideon International. Beside his wife the former Laura Avalyn Pifer, whom he married October 4, 1950, he leaves two daughters: Debra (Gary) Weaver of Boardman; Sandra (Walter) of Phoenix, AZ; a son: Leonard M. (Mary) of Houston, TX; two sisters: Agnes Schlientz of Conway, AK; and Joan Rubino of Boardman; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother Edvin Lind; six sisters: Evila Lind; Elin Swanson; Oliva McMurray; Ruth Lind; Edna Beltz; Ethel Konya. Funeral Services will be held 11AM, Tuesday at the Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Poland. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 PM, Monday, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, and again on Tuesday at the church from 10 AM until 10:45 AM.
