Lawrence Joseph Kraynak, 73

Poland: Lawrence Joseph Kraynak, 73, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Lawrence known by his family and friends as "Larry" was born August 19, 1946 in Youngstown, the son of the late Cyril and Stella (Krispinsky) Kraynak.

He graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1964 and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Belmont during the Vietnam War.

Larry was a member of UAW Local 1112 for General Motors and worked at the Lordstown Complex for 30 years, retiring in 1997.

Larry is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Sandra K. Perod, whom he married on February 10, 1968; two sons, Donald T. Kraynak of Poland, David L. (Dawn) Kraynak of Columbus; four grandchildren, Derek T. Kraynak of Columbus, Lilly B. Kraynak of Poland, Ethan D. Kraynak and Emma M. Kraynak, both from Columbus; his uncle and aunt, James and Kathleen Pallai of Youngstown; and two sister-in-laws, Cheryl Arkwright of Mansfield, and Louann (Don) Pelletier of Columbus.

Per Larry's requests, private services were held with Chaplain Rebecca Hudak from Hospice of the Valley officiating.

Larry was laid to rest at Poland Riverside Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Valley, and Dr. Chirichella and his staff for the love, care and support that they gave to Larry and his family at this time.

Arrangements were handled by Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home 270 N. Main Street in Poland.

Larry enjoyed woodworking and camping. He was the original drummer for The Original Human Beingz Band. Larry was a devoted husband, father and papa. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512 in memory of Larry.
