Poland - LaVerne Luther, 84, of Poland, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at her home.
LaVerne was born September 20, 1939 in Sharpsville, PA, a daughter of the late Kathryn Jennings-Davenport.
She graduated from Sharpsville High School in Pennsylvania and moved to the Youngstown area in the 1950's.
LaVerne was a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and sister.
LaVerne is survived by two children, James F. Luther of Poland, OH and Janice L. (Ed) Ruscitti of Struthers, OH; and her brother, Charles Mitchell.
Besides her mother, Kathryn Jennings-Davenport, LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Fred L. Luther, whom she married on July 21, 1962 and died on June 21, 2018; an infant daughter, Tracey Lynn Luther; and a brother, Robert Mitchell.
Per the family's request, there will be no calling hours or services. Interment will take place at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
Arrangements are being handled by Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring Street in Struthers.
