Lavella âa�A"GiGiâa�A� Lee Hamilton-99 Poland- Lavella âa�A"GiGiâa�A� Lee Hamilton, 99, of 7362 Forest Hill Ave, died peacefully Wednesday morning at her residence. Mrs. Hamilton was born April 15, 1908 in Delavan, Illinois, a daughter of Joseph and May McHenry Short. She lived in McLean, IL until moving to Pittsburgh in 1973 and later moved to Poland in 2002. Mrs. Hamilton was a 1926 graduate of Hopedale High School in Tazewell, IL and then went on to graduate from the Brown Business College in Peoria, IL. Her and her late huband, Clarence W. Hamilton, whom she married September 7, 1929, owned a general merchandise store when living in McLean, IL. She also was a medical secretary at the former Collins Clinic in Peoria, IL. In her later years, she worked as a companion until retiring in 1980. Mrs. Hamilton was a member of the Brentwood Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh and was a volunteer with the churchâa�a��s Meals on Wheels Program. She was also a member of the Questorâa�a��s Antique Club in San Matteo, CA. Mrs. Hamilton was very well read and articulate. She loved to share with others stories about her life. She is survived by one sister, Juanita Stoehr of Crystal River, FL; two granddaughters, Nancy (Thomas Booher) Lee Olander of Poland and Teresa (William S.) McMinn of Pittsburgh; one grandson, Robert (Martha) Olander of St. Louis, MO; two great-granddaughters, Katin (Brandon) Miller of Providence, RI and Shannon McMinn of Pittsburgh; and two great-grandsons, William and Bryan McMinn both of Pittsburgh. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Yvonne Lee Hamilton Olander; and a sister, Maxine Amen. She was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held Friday at 4:30 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel. Family and friends may call from 4:00PM until the time of the service.
