Laurence P. Cossack

Youngstown - Laurence P. Cossack, 53, of Boardman, died suddenly Tuesday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Center after being stricken at home of an apparent heart attack.

Laurence, affectionately known as Larry, was born September 28, 1957 in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Margaret Repasky Cossack.

He was raised in Struthers and had attended Woodrow Wilson High School. Larry worked for Cuyahoga Wrecking for several years, Diver Steel City, and most recently as a sales clerk for Bernard Auto Parts.

Larry had recently been serving as his father's primary caregiver, helping to maintain his home, garden and his lawn.

He was a member of the St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown.

He enjoyed muscle cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, collecting coins, and scrap. He had a unique sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Larry was a friend to all and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Besides his father Michael, Sr. of Struthers, Larry leaves his wife, the former Laura J. Hall, whom he married September 24, 1988; one sister, Cynthia Braden of Stowe; two brothers, Michael Cossack, Jr. of Youngstown, and Brian Cossack of Salem, Oregon; his beloved aunt, Dorothy Loshuk of Struthers; nephews, Michael Cossack, Eric Gbur, and Billy Braden; a niece, Melissa Benson; and his beloved dog, Chipa.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret; two sisters, Katherine Cossack and Diane Cossack; and his dog, Maggie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received Friday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
