Medford, MA - Laura Brinsko, 92, formerly of Lowellville, died November 28, 2014 at Glenridge Nursing Home in Medford, MA.
Mrs. Brinsko was born April 17, 1922 in Youngstown, a daughter of Frank and Matilda Scaramuzzi Rapone.
She was a graduate of Lowellville High School and received a degree in Nursing at Youngstown Hospital Nursing Association.
Laura was a nurse at Northside and Southside Hospitals and also for Dr. Firestone in Youngstown.
Laura was devoted to her family.
Her husband John, whom she married June 26, 1948, died Jan.1, 1955. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Robert) Galasso of Boston; one son, Jack (Mary Ellen) Brinsko of Lowellville; one brother, Henry Rapone of Florida; five grandchildren, Michelle Brinsko, Laurie Ellen Brinsko, Joseph (Carly) Brinsko, Amy (Jarred) Keohane, and Andrea (Michael) Cole; two great-grandchildren, Colton Brinsko and Wyatt Brinsko; brother-in-law, Martin Brinsko of Austintown; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Laura was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Alfred Rapone; and three sisters, Mary and Frances Rapone, and Helen Mariotti.
A prayer service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 244 McGill St., Lowellville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
