Laura J. Biastro, 52
YOUNGSTOWN - Laura J. Biastro, 52, died Thursday at her residence, with her family by her side, after battling lung cancer.
Laura was born March 3, 1962, in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph J. and Jean Black Biastro.
She was a 1979 graduate of Springfield Local High School, where she was on the flagline. She was a healthcare worker at Gateways.
Laura had a kind and gracious spirit and loved animals, and she donated to the Humane Society. She also enjoyed going to the lake at the Mahoning Sportsman Association.
She leaves behind her father, Joseph of New Middletown; her sister, Elizabeth Wagner of Avon; her niece, Kathryne; and her lifelong, loving companion, Patrick Longmore of Poland.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, with Pastors Mike Grant and Susan Holley officiating.
Friends and family will be received Saturday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at
the funeral home.
