Sebring - LaRue A. Moyer, 93, of Sebring, formerly of Poland, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Salem Community Hospital. LaRue was born July 11, 1914 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Thomas and Barbara Ella Noerr Smith. She moved to Youngstown in 1924 and then to Poland in 1952. She has resided in Sebring since 1993. LaRue worked as a secretary for the Poland Board of Education, retiring in 1976 after 25 years. She was a member of the former Bethlehem United Church of Christ, where she played the pipe organ. Mrs. Moyer was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She leaves her husband of 72 years, John H. Moyer, whom she married, December 7, 1935; two daughters, Suzanne Moyer of Hookstown, PA and Barbara Ciccotelli of Columbus; her sister, Emogene Uselton of Columbiana; two grandchildren, Tami (Burl) Scott and Rob Ciccotelli; and three great-grandchildren, Ansley and Abigail Scott, and Jake Ciccotelli, all of Columbus. Besides her parents, LaRue was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Smith, Clifford Smith, and Russell Smith; and two sisters, Martha Smith and Nellie Measmer. There are no calling hours. Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Copeland Oaks Retirement Community Chapel, 800 S. 15th St., Sebring. Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
