Poland - Larry W. Steiner, 81, of Poland, died August 6, 2009 in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman.
Mr. Steiner was born October 31, 1927 in Youngstown, the son of the late Earl and Jessie Round Steiner.
He was a graduate of the Poland Seminary High School and received his bachelor's degree in fine arts from Youngstown College. Mr. Steiner worked as an engineer technician for the Mahoning County Engineers for 31 years, retiring in 1989.
During World War II, he served in the United States Navy.
He was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post #274 in Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., and the Masonic Wick Lodge No. 481.
He leaves his wife, the former Donna McCullough, whom he married May 29, 1954; his daughter, Heidi Steiner Nanz and her husband, Stephen, of Brooklyn, NY; his son, David Steiner of Poland; and two grandchildren, Todd Steiner and Veery Nanz.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.
