Larry Eugene Hune, 79 Poland- Larry Eugene Hune, 79 of Oak Drive in Poland, died early Friday morning at Northside Medical Center. Larry was born April 19, 1927 in Marietta, Ohio, a son of William M. and Grace B. Brown Hune. He was raised in Marietta and came to Poland from Canton in 1967. After graduating from Marietta High School in 1945, Mr. Hune enlisted in the United States Navy. Returning to Marietta in 1946 Mr. Hune attended Marietta College where he was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. For two years he worked at Seismograph Company in North Dakota, Colorado and Virginia. In 1952 he left Seismograph Company for Shell Oil Company and in 1956 he worked in Industrial Sales for East Ohio Gas Company retiring in 1987 after 30 years. Mr. Hune was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of Marietta Masonic Lodge F&AM #1, and belonged to various golf leagues. He is survived by his wife, the former Emilie LaBarre, with whom he married October 18, 1952; three daughters, Mary Grace (Marc) Zolnier of Williamsburg, Va., Elizabeth (Roger) Kalter of Marietta, and Carol Ann (Charles) Serenko of New Middletown; four grandchildren, Catherine and Carolyn Serenko, Megan Zolnier and Robert Hune-Kalter. Besides his parents, Mr. Hune was preceded in death by two sisters, Erma Baumgard and Wanda Cranston and one brother Arthur Hune. There are no services or calling hours. Mr. Hune will be interred at a later date at Mound Cemetery in Marietta. The family requests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
