Lacy R. Bryant, 84, of Struthers, Ohio passed away on June 18, 2016.
Lacy was born in Alderson, WV to Jake & Bessie (Dixon) Bryant. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Estie Tincher, Mable Berry, Fanny Bryant, Nellie Tincher, and Viunnia Bryant; and two brothers, Albert Bryant and Plummer Bryant.
Lacy is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Nancy (Walthers) Bryant; daughters, Lori Bryant of Delaware, OH, Janet (John) Howley of Boston, MA, and Linda Bryant (Rod Wood) of Akron, OH; granddaughters, Skylar and Raina Wood; sisters and brothers, Lee (Steve) Coy, Bea Bond, Luster Bryant and Maynard (Ruby Jo) Bryant; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Cecil and JoAnn Duffett; nephew, Charles (Helen) Tincher; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Upon an honorable discharge, he moved to Youngstown, OH to work at Commercial Shearing (now Parker Hannifin) where he retired after 30 years of service. He enjoyed traveling with family, hunting, fishing, volunteering at St. Elizabeth Hospital, playing tennis at Boardman Park & Mill Creek Park, and swimming at the Jewish Community Center.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at Bethel Friends Church, 2771 Spitler Rd., Poland, OH, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Market St., Boardman, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a tribute gift fund may be made and sent "In memory of Lacy Bryant" to Mill Creek MetroParks, Attn: Development, 7574 Columbiana Canfield Rd, Canfield, OH 44406.
