Kristy Lynn McFarland

Kristy Lynn McFarland, 42 of Youngstown, departed this life in the early hours of October 3, 2017, at home.

Kristy was born August 11, 1975 in Youngstown, a daughter of Timothy Avers and Elizabeth Petrie. As a child, Kristy attended Boardman schools and enjoyed playing saxophone and softball. Kristy, an excellent cook, was a mother and homemaker. Kristy was a soft-hearted and quick-witted person who enjoyed gardening, making jewelry, hiking, and music, especially her favorite band, the Grateful Dead. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Caleb McFarland of Columbus; Cassidy, Colin Laddie, and Kirrah Stumreiter at home, and their father, Daniel Stumreiter, also at home; her mother, Elizabeth (Craig) Petrie of Boardman; her father Timothy (Diane) Avers of Alliance; sister, Tricia Avers of Boardman; three half-brothers, Timothy, Thomas, and Christopher Avers; and two nephews of Boardman.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Ruth Green; Uncles Rick and Ron Zell; and son Caleb's father, Lawrence McFarland.

A prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:15AM at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Youngstown, with Fr. Edward Noga officiating.

Friends and family will be received Friday from 4-7PM at the funeral home.
