Struthers - Kenneth E. Marapese, Sr., 73, died Wednesday evening, August 18, 2015 at his home, surrounded by family and friends.
Mr. Marapese was born on October 15, 1941 in Youngstown, a son of the late Andrew and Josephine (Suszczynski) Marapese, Sr.
A lifelong resident of the Nebo neighborhood of Struthers, he was a 1959 graduate of Struthers High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Struthers. He made his career as a proud member of Carpenter's Union Local 171.
In his spare time, he enjoyed doing craftsman work around his home.
Ken is survived by his wife, the former Becky Lavin, whom he married October 16, 1994; three sons, Kenneth (Jennifer) Marapese Jr., Edward (Shelley) Marapese, and Donald Marapese, all of Struthers; step-daughter, Stacey (Matthew) Miller of Poland; six grandchildren, Jacob and Samantha Marapese, Alex and Tia Marapese, and Matthew and Michael Miller; one brother, Andrew "Chooky" (Marlane) Marapese Jr. of Struthers; and his former wife, Fran Marapese of Struthers.
Private services will be held for the family at a later date.
