New Middletown - Kenneth E. Earwood, 77, of New Middletown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 after passing at his home.
Ken was born April 2, 1932 in Andrews, NC, a son of Willard and Hopey Hoxworth Earwood.
Ken worked as a millwright for Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 33 years and retired from the Chrysler Automotive Plant in Twinsburg after 10 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
Ken was a member of the former First Baptist Church of Struthers. A master craftsman, he loved woodworking and the outdoors. Ken was passionate about his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife, the former Roseline Straley, whom he married September 9, 1973; three daughters, Deborah Earwood of Fayetteville, NC, Darlene (John) High of Seaford, VA, and Chrystal (Mike) Planey of Uniontown; son, John (Jenny) Rose of East Fairfield; brother, Charles (Pam) Earwood of Hemphill, TX; four grandsons, Kenneth (Dottie) Earwood, Bryan (Kirsten) High, Robert High, and Michael Planey, III; three granddaughters, Ashley and Taylor Planey, and Jessica Rose; three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Kenny, and Nathan Earwood; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his sister and brother-in-law, June and Charles Montgomery and sister, Marian Melozzi.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring Street in Struthers, with Pastor Vince Hardy officiating. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery, where military honors will take place.
Friends will be received Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
