Kenneth A. "Casey" Casto

Kenneth A. âa�A"Casey.âa�A� Casto 67 Lowellville-Kenneth A. Casto, known as Casey, 67, of 8101 Struthers Rd. died Monday morning at his residence. He was born June 3, 1935 in Norwalk, Ohio, a son of Alvin George and Edythe Virginiae Miracle Casto. He has been a resident of the area most of his life. Mr. Casto was a 1953 graduate of Poland High School. He attended Youngstown College for over a year. He worked at Ohio Edison for over 40 years where he was Supervisor of the Forestry Department before retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and an elder. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving at the beginning of the Viet Nam crisis. Mr. Casto was a volunteer firefighter for the Poland Fire Department for 25 years, where he served as Vice President of the Firemanâa�a��s Association and was the Editor of the Firemanâa�a��s Directory. Mr. Castro was a member of the Poland Lodge, F & AM No. 766 and was a 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish Rite. He was an active member of the Aut Mori Grotto with whom he volunteered at the Canfield Fair and the Aut Mori Circus in Struthers. He was a member of the Poland American Legion Post 15 and the Poland Masonic Breakfast Club. He leaves his wife, the former Laverne Hughes, whom he married August 21, 1955; his mother, Edythe of Poland; two sons, Kenneth A. Jr. (Terumi) of Avon, Indiana and Thomas (Carol Beth) of Fork Union, Virginia; a sister, Virginiae Rae Siskowic of Santa Ana, California and two grandchildren, Benjamin Andrew Casto and Alana Elizabeth Casto. Funeral Services will be Thursday 10:00AM at the Poland Presbyterian Church. Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Cunningham- Becker Funeral Home, Poland, where a Masonic Service will be conducted at 8:00 PM. and Thursday 9:00-9:45 at the church.
