Kathryn M. Pittman

Columbiana - Kathryn M. Pittman, 88, of Columbiana, formerly of Elm Street in Struthers, died Wednesday in St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center. Mrs. Pittman was born January 28, 1919 in Witt, Illinois, a daughter of Mathew and Helen Furin Yurak. She has been an area resident since 1957. She was a graduate of Campbell High School. During WWII, Mrs. Pittman worked at McCrory's 5 and 10 Cent Store and General Fireproofing and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell. Mrs. Pittman was an avid sewer and loved to spend time with her family and friends. Her husband Herbert, whom she married December 12, 1946, died July 6, 1990. She leaves two sons, David (Lynn) Pittman of Lake Charles, LA and William (Lee) Pittman of Cincinnatti, OH; one sister, Ann WynKoop of Westminster, CA; four grandsons, Derek, Jared, Eric, and Bryan Pittman; and one great-grandson, Joshua Pittman. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Pittman was preceded in death by two brothers, Mathew and Steven Yurak and two sisters, Helen Yurak and Mary Goodale. Funeral services will be held Monday, 9:15 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church with Msgr. Romza officiating. Interment will follow in the Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown. Friends will be received Sunday, 5-7 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
