Kathryn C. (Gradski) Evans

Struthers - Kathryn C. Evans, 98, of North Lima, formerly of Struthers, died Saturday evening, March 26, 2016 at Assumption Village.

Kathryn was born April 6, 1917 in Youngstown, a daughter of Frank and Catherine Sinkovich Gradski.

Raised in Youngstown, Kathryn attended The Rayen School. She was a homemaker, a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers where she sang in the choir and a member of the Croatian Mother's Club, Lodge #504.

Throughout her life, Kathryn's greatest enjoyment was making a home for her husband and children, and later, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Her husband of 52 years, Stephen Evans, whom she married October 3, 1936, died May 4, 1989. She leaves four daughters, Kathryn (John) Marsh of Boardman, Patricia Clark of Mentor; Dorothy (Jack) Waddington of Columbiana, and Pauline (Gary) Butch of Poland; one son, Richard (Diana) Evans of Poland; nine grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren, with one on the way in May.

Besides her parents and husband, Kathryn was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Laura Jane Kishton; one sister, Anne Prevec; two brothers, Stephen Gradski, and infant brother, Steve Gradski; and one son-in-law, Robert Clark.

Upon the request of Kathryn, there will be no visitation or calling hours. However, all family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of her life on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church with the Most Rev. George V. Murry, S. J. presiding. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery.
