Struthers - Katherine Mang Varone, 96, of Struthers, passed away Friday afternoon at Caprice Health Center.
Katherine was born June 27, 1914 in Youngstown, a daughter of Bernard and Rose Russo Catanzaro.
She had worked as an Aid for Northside Hospital and was a Homemaker.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Her first husband, Christian Mang whom she married September 29, 1934 died January 10, 1969. Her second husband, Joseph Varone whom she married March 4, 1978 died October 11, 1986. She leaves two daughters, Dolores (Don) Barnhart of New Waterford and Roselyn Hamilton of Struthers; two sons, Ronald Mang of Boardman and Christian (Andrea) Mang of Painesville; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous step-children and her beloved dog, Missy.
Besides her parents and husbands, Katherine was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Bonacci; and three brothers, Joseph, Bernard, and Jay Catanzaro;son in law Ron Hamilton; and daughter in law, Barbara Mang.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, 11 am at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Pastor Doug Theobald officiating. Interment will follow at the Tod Homestead Cemetery.
Friends will be received Monday from 4-7 PM and Tuesday from 10 -10:45 am at the funeral home.
