Poland - Katherine Anna Reed, 91, formerly of Youngstown's Westside, died June 25, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Reed was born June 7, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of John C. and Anna Martin Horn.
Katherine worked in the kitchen at various Youngstown City Schools, retiring from Central Kitchen. She was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her husband of 68 years, Joseph R. Reed Sr., whom she married, July 10, 1942, in Phenix City, AL, died July 29,2010.
She is survived by five children, Terry (Patricia) Reed of Austintown, Donna (Robert) Skruck of Hubbard, Joseph (Cynthia) Reed Jr. of Boardman, Mark (Patricia) Reed of Columbus. and Cathy (John) Demetra of Poland, one daughter-in-law, Susan (Jack) Rose of Athens, GA; one sister, Bernice DeWolff of Philadelphia; one brother, John Horn of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren Terry and Brian Rose, Robert, Todd and Courtney Skruck, Damon, Justin and Tyler Reed, and Max Demetra; and nine great-grandchildren ,Taylor, Colette, Cooper, Carter, Camryn, Isabelle, Caralynn, Carmen, and Holden.
Services will be held Wednesday 11:30AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00-11:20AM at the funeral home.
